Introducing the IEEE-USA Influencer Program

By Victoria Bannon

Want to give yourself a 27% better chance of getting hired at your dream job? According to a recent study, volunteering is the pathway to a better career.

Being an IEEE member of gives you ample opportunities to volunteer. But what if you don’t have the time to sit on a committee or just don’t want to?

If you’re looking for a different kind of volunteering opportunity, consider becoming an IEEE-USA Influencer. Join a group of U.S.-based engineers and technology professionals who are being featured on IEEE-USA’s social media outlets.

As an influencer, you will provide one piece of social media content per month to IEEE-USA’s social media manager. This may sound intimidating, but content can be as simple as a picture that you snap at an engineering event for IEEE-USA’s Instagram, a video of your latest engineering project for our Facebook page, or a great article that you came across for our Twitter. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the IEEE-USA team to create original content like the IEEE Day Video that our Influencers recently worked on. Don’t worry if you aren’t social media savvy – we will work with you to develop your content.

As an organization, we want to hear the voices of both the present and future in our Influencer Program. Help us serve you better. Email socialmedia@ieeeusa.org with your ideas today.
