7 Reasons to Sail Away with IEEE-USA in October

By IEEE-USA Staff

IEEE-USA is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in style this year. You’re invited to join us 16-20 October 2023 aboard Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas for a 4-night, 5-day cruise from sunny Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, to the tropical beauty of the Bahamas, with stops in Nassau and CocoCay, before returning to Port Canaveral.

You might be wondering if a cruise is the right vacation for you. If easy planning, great value, and waking up in a different destination each day sound like the makings of your ideal getaway, then IEEE-USA’s 50th Anniversary Cruise is for you! Here are seven great reasons to join us:

7. Easy to Plan

One of the best aspects of a cruise is that you can easily choose how you spend your vacation. Once you’ve picked your stateroom and arranged your travel to port, believe it or not, the majority of your planning is complete.

6. An Excellent Value

A cruise includes nearly everything you would need for a great vacation—a stateroom, food, entertainment and a new destination from one day to the next. On Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Seas, you’ll find signature experiences like the FlowRider surf simulator, rock climbing, Sky Pad VR bungee trampoline experience, among other thrilling activities. When you think about all you can check off your list in one day, you’ll find the value of a cruise vacation is unbeatable.

5. Perfect for Any Type of Traveler

Are you a foodie, lover of culture and history, wellness warrior or addicted to adventure? From global cuisine and cultural immersion to a chill spa day and exciting active adventures, there are endless opportunities to explore and indulge all your senses—making every moment and memory count.

4. An Ideal Getaway for All

Whether your career is just getting started or you’re living it up in your golden years, or somewhere in between, cruising offers a memorable vacation for everyone on board.

3. Unpack Once

Cruising provides the ultimate advantage over other kinds of vacations—you only have to “arrive” and unpack once. When you enjoy this hassle-free way of seeing the world, you eliminate schlepping luggage from your itinerary (no weight requirements here).

2. You Don’t Have to Pick Between Adventure or Relaxation

You’ll never feel as if you have to choose between the thrill of the wind whipping through your hair as you fly down a zip line or relaxing at the beach under the Caribbean sun. On a cruise, you can do it all, whether on board or at a port of call, thanks to equal parts adventure and relaxation.

1. How Often Do You Get to Go on a Cruise with your IEEE friends?

You enjoy attending conferences with your IEEE colleagues, so why not enjoy a little leisure time with them, too? Like other IEEE events, our cruise will include learning and networking opportunities, including four short-but-informative “lightning sessions,” but the majority of time will be reserved for creating memories with your IEEE friends that will last a lifetime!
