In addition, in response to the current situation in Washington, IEEE-USA has identified other resources that may be useful to members who may be dislocated from their jobs:
- Maryland’s “Maryland Public Servant Resource Website” provides links to professional outplacement services.
- The state of Virginia launched the “Virginia Has Jobs” web site. Counties in Northern Virginia also have put together a website to assist those affected by job loss. The site includes links to job listings and career centers. The site also has a section focused specifically on military veterans who are dislocated.
- The Office of Personnel Management has services to help federal employees transition into new positions.
- The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) published an article informing probationary federal employees of their rights and recourse if they become dislocated workers.
