A Recap of October 2013 Electrical & Computer PE and Electrical FE Exam Results

Since 2009, the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam for electrical and computer engineers has offered examinees a choice of three 80-question exams. The exam choices are power, computer and electrical and electronics.

The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) has released results from the October 2013 administration of the three Electrical & Computer PE examinations. Over 1,600 persons took these exams, with overall pass rates for the three examinations of:

  • 63 percent for first-time exam takers
  • 28 percent for repeat takers

The Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam was administered in paper-and-pencil format for the final time in October 2013. Pass rates for the electrical engineering module were:

  • 66 percent for first-time takers
  • 18 percent for repeat takers
