Webinar Corner: IEEE-USA Continues the Legislative Update and PTO Series in June and July

By Diana Librizzi

In June and July, IEEE-USA will be continuing its partnership with the United States Patent and Trade Office (USPTO), with the second to last webinar in the series, as well as our monthly Legislative Update.

On Thursday, 30 June, IEEE-USA Director of Government Relations Russ Harrison will present his monthly IEEE-USA Legislative Update. Every month during this webinar series, IEEE members can stay up to date on recent events in Washington that affect them, as Harrison briefs attendees on what Congress is doing for, and to, our profession.

Continuing into July, the USPTO will present the second-to-last webinar within our partnered series, Patent Cooperation Treaty. In this presentation, USPTO experts will give an overview of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), an international treaty with more than 145 Contracting States. Participants will learn how the PCT makes it possible to seek patent protection for an invention simultaneously in a large number of countries–by filing a single, “international” patent application; instead of filing several separate national, or regional, patent applications.

Check out the IEEE-USA webinar page for information on these and other exciting upcoming webinars.
